About

Sand Sculpture WA is owned and run by principal sculptor, Tim Darby and sculpture teacher Shani Graham.

When he was in Grade 1 Tim drew a picture of a witch’s cat in a storm. His teacher had it framed and hung in the staff room. Tim has been making art ever since.

With a degree in Fine Art majoring in sculpture, Tim has worked in steel, leather, paint, clay, and stone. His work tends to be quirky and humorous and appeals to a wide audience.

Tim enjoys working with his clients to articulate their vision into the final sand sculpture.

Shani has over 25 years as a professional educator, and works in tandem with Tim providing engaging and easy to follow instructions for aspiring sand sculptors, young and/or young at heart.

She is particularly good at deconstruction ceremonies, making the knocking down of the sculpture a meaningful experience.
